Third Annual "We Love Erie's Public Schools Week"

Monday February 8 (Theme: Athletics) - Harlem Wizards vs. EPS Champions Basketball game, 6:30 p.m. at East High School. The world-famous Harlem Wizards will compete against EPS' Championship team consisting of teachers, principals, administrators, local superstars and high school athletes in a fun game of alley-oop style basketball. Tickets are $5 at the door. Proceeds benefit the PEPS Athletics Fund. The EPS Stem Team will present a STEM Showcase of projects from various schools in the East High cafeteria before the game. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

 

Tuesday February 9 (Theme: Arts) - Announcement of recipients of the 2016 PEPS Arts Innovation classroom grants totaling just over $9000.

 

Wednesday February 10 (Theme: Academics) - The academic achievements of EPS programs will be highlighted all day and uploaded to the district Facebook page (www.facebook.com/eriespublicschools).

 

Thursday February 11 (Theme: Assistance/Appreciation) - PEPS will hold the Arts grant reception at Wayne School at 3:30 p.m.

Buildings are encouraged to come up with their own appreciation project and implement it on this day.

PEPS will also announce plans for a community-wide supply drive to support EPS classroom teachers during the balance of the school year. 

 

Friday February 12 (Theme: Advocacy/School Spirit) - All schools in the district will show their EPS pride to the City of Erie by decorating buildings and allowing students to wear school spirit gear or EPS t-shirts. 

 

Throughout the week, schools will also be holding a penny war competition to raise funds for PEPS. Prizes will be awarded to the school that collects the most coins.
