Straight A's for Erie's Public Schools Campaign

After listening to our Erie Public School teachers, coaches and administrators, PEPS has refined its funding strategy into five target areas.  We call these "Straight A's for Erie's Public Schools" and they represent our focused effort to strengthen our entire school community.

The STRAIGHT A's are:

Academics- We recognize that Academics are the cornerstone to our students' education.  PEPS will raise funds to support various academic projects including Career/Technical Initiatives, Literacy Programs, STEM Camps and enrichment activities.

Athletics- Our support in this area includes district-wide initiatives for transportation assistance and a general athletics fund.  We also recognize the need to create "feeder" programs in our elementary/middle schools and will be working closely with Erie Public School administrators to determine the best way to provide athletic opportunities to our younger students.

Arts- Our Innovation Arts Grants were a huge success in 2013 and 2014 and we are committed to funding them again in 2014-15.  These classroom grants allow teachers with great ideas to bring innovative art projects to their students. Check out our Gallery to see photos from past grants.

Assistance- We also recognize that economic conditions in the City of Erie have left many of our Erie Public School students in need of basic assistance.  Although in its early phases, we expect this fund to help support basic needs -- uniforms, school supplies, cold weather clothing, etc.

Advocacy- We are proud of our Erie's Public Schools and we want our students, staff and community to share this pride. In 2014, PEPS organized the first annual We Love Erie's Public Schools week during February 3-7. Festivities included an awesome charity basketball game with the Harlem Wizards, school decorating and teacher appreciation events.
